Even though the last election in Michigan went… about as abysmally as possible for Republicans on the state wide level. We did do pretty well here in Alcona County. Oftentimes, local elections are an afterthought. Honestly though, there’s really nothing more important than taking care of your own back yard.
One such victory this year is the election of write-in candidate Gary Wnuk to the Fairview School Board. A staunch Constitutional Conservative, we believe Gary will do a great job for the students there.
Here’s what he had to say about his efforts in 2022:
This was not my initial action. I have thought about sitting on the school board. Looking back, my run for Commissioner did several things. Number 1 it did not matter what party I ran on, I was not destined for that position. Number 2 the backing from the Republican Party never really materialized as I was led to believe 2 years ago. Number 3 I firmly believe this was where GOD wanted me just for the events that happened that do not make sense for me to have won this seat. I have tried to raise the awareness of Alcona Citizens on the Constitution, lead the battle on Constitutional violations and it all seemed to be ignored for the most part. I am now put into a position to safeguard youth. I have been put in positions for battle in the past, so defending those who don’t have a vote is a privilege! You go where you are put and needed, not where you want to go.
Conservatives everywhere are stepping up and getting involved. We look forward to seeing what Gary accomplishes!
